The Great Depression severely affected the countries of Latin America; indeed a League of Nations report highlighted Chile, Mexico and Bolivia as countries worst hit by the Depression. The IB recommends that students focus on one country in Latin America as a case study for this section of the topic. Students should make it clear in the introduction of an essay on the Depression and Latin America which country they are focusing on. This section focuses on the economic and political impact of the Depression on Brazil.
